Bio of the artist:
Shelter Serra was born in a small coastal town in northern California named Bolinas in 1972.
His interest in making art started at an early age playing with clay and Legos©, also as a teenager skateboarding in parking lots after school and doing spray paint graffiti murals in San Francisco.
He studied at the University of California as Santa Cruz and received a Master’s of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design.
Shelter has participated in many group shows in New York and abroad. He has also exhibited widely in Japan. Shelter currently lives in New York City and works in his studio in midtown Manhattan.
